Live Ledge #230: Bob Mehr

Next Tuesday, Bob Mehr's long-awaited Replacements biography, Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements, will finally officially hit the stores (although Amazon has been shipping them a few days early). Over six years in the making, Mehr was somehow able to talk Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson into cooperating, and over 250 more people were interviewed. The results bring forth a ton of previously-unheard items, including Bob Stinson's tragic childhood abuse.
Mehr was kind enough to appear on this episode of Live Ledge, and through the marathon 2 1/2 hour show we touched on many of topics covered in the book. Mehr also curated the show's playlist, which obviously includes plenty of Replacements songs but a few other artists that were inspirations for the band.
Portions of tonight's show will be transcribed for my newspaper blog, and of course you can also find all Live Ledge episodes on Stitcher or iTunes. For a direct download of the mp3, click here!
I'd like to thank Bob for sitting in and sharing so many great stories during tonight's show. Please show your support by buying a copy at your favorite record store or through Amazon.
