Live Ledge #95: 2013

One would think that it would be extremely tough to find new music this time of year. The record business basically shuts down around Thanksgiving, and only begins trickling out new material around the middle of January.
Yet it wasn't really tough to create another of my series of "new release" shows. Odds and ends did appear in the last few weeks of the year, and a number of new tunes were unveiled in the first few days of the new year. The first major release of the year, Signed and Sealed in Blood by the Dropkick Murphys, will hit stores next Tuesday (January 8), and two weeks later it will be joined by True North by Bad Religion. Tracks from both albums appear in this episode, along with new music by Nick Cave, Bettie Serveert, The Memories, Beach Fossils, and so much more.
